Come join us! CPTP is welcoming interested students and mentors for the fall semester.


CPTP is a highly supportive program. Students will receive mentoring and support from a teacher mentor, success coach, and a wide community of teachers. Local teachers, teacher leaders, and students gain access to an expansive network to build relationships and support each other as they strengthen the teaching profession together. Who Is CPTP For?

Community College Students over 18 years old who:

  • have never considered teaching
  • have just started wondering if teaching might be for them
  • are already considering becoming a teacher

Student Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or over at the time of beginning participation in the CPTP program
  • Available to participate in a minimum of 30 hours of one-on-one mentoring
  • Submission of application (below) required

Students:

CPTP is open to all majors! Participants will:

  • Receive guidance and inspiration from a teacher mentor, a success coach, and a community of peers and teachers
  • Explore Pre-K through Community College teaching, STEM Education, Special Education, and Early Childhood Education through workshops and classroom observation
  • Participate in social justice and equity learning opportunities
  • Receive a stipend

Mentors:

If you are a teacher passionate about giving back to your community and looking to take on a leadership role, we want to hear from you! CPTP seeks teacher mentors to help guide the next generation of Teachers of Color. Teacher mentors will:

  • Mentor 1 or 2 future teachers
  • Receive ongoing professional development
  • Access the Teacher Mentoring Network—a hub for support, collaboration, and community building
  • Receive a stipend
