Three Interconnected Strands of the Educator Pathway

CCE’s Educator Pathway includes three complementary strands that support aspiring educators at various stages of exploration, preparation, and growth.

1. Teaching Exploration (EdPath Success, EPS)

  • Career exploration and mentoring
  • Stipends and success coaching
  • Support for community college students exploring teaching careers

EPS provides early exposure and guidance for individuals beginning to consider the teaching profession.

**2. Pre-Apprenticeship

(Ed Pathway Pre-Apprenticeship, EPPA)**

  • Career awareness and exploration
  • Work-based learning opportunities
  • Success coaching and basic-needs stipends
  • College coursework
  • Stackable competencies

This pre-apprenticeship is registered with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and the California Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS), offering multiple entry points for:

  • High school students (16+)
  • Community college students
  • Underemployed adults

**3. Apprenticeship

(California Teacher Apprenticeship Program, CA TAP)**

  • One-on-one mentoring with certificated teachers
  • Paid on-the-job training
  • Dedicated advising and success coaching
  • Wraparound supports
  • Stackable competencies and college credits toward a bachelor’s degree and teaching credential

Registered with the U.S. DOL and CA DAS, CA TAP serves:

  • Paraprofessionals
  • Career changers
  • University students
  • Other adults who aspire to become credentialed teachers

Participants gain structured support and career advancement, creating a direct pathway into the teaching profession.

Pre-Apprenticeship Interest Application

The CCE STEM Pathway Pre-Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship Program empowers students to explore, discover, and lead in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This bi-coastal program connects high schools, community colleges, universities, and industry leaders to create a seamless pipeline from classroom to career.

Community Mentoring Network (CMN)

All strands of the Educator Pathway are supported by the Community Mentoring Network, a platform that provides:

  • Workshops
  • Conferences
  • Special events
  • Field trips
  • Engagement opportunities for students, educators, and community partners

With measurable outcomes in belonging, persistence, and success, CMN ensures that participants are supported through every step of their journey.

Through partnerships with school districts, community colleges, universities, and community organizations, CCE is developing 1,000 new community- and school-driven educators by 2030.
