Annie Leonard
Director for Community and Schools Programming
As Director of Coaching, Annie leads the conceptualization and implementation of an adaptive coaching approach that advances CCE's work to connect schools and their communities around measures that matter. She also leads the Innovation Career Pathways project, which provides professional learning for Massachusetts high schools involved in designing and sustaining work-based learning partnerships with local employers and workforce development boards. Innovation Career Pathways bring communities and schools together to make the high school experience more meaningful for students, supporting their agency and informed decision-making about post-secondary possibilities. Annie is also a visiting professor and mentor to principal candidates at Salem State University. She has been a public school educator for thirty years, serving as a teacher, project director, assistant principal, and principal at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in rural, suburban, and urban districts. She holds BA and MAT degrees from Brown University and a PhD in Educational Leadership from UMass Amherst.
